Bridal Bouquet Preservation

Do You Work with Clients From All Over the United States?
No. Amberworks offers our unique services to clients across the greater Connecticut area. We Do Not Accept shipped flower bouquets and we Do Not Ship Completed displays. We created our floral preservation business for Local clients that are able to visit our studio in person to drop off and pick up their items.

Do I need to be an Amberworks Bridal Client?
No, We will preserve your hand-tied fresh flower wedding bouquet from any outside source, not just Amberworks Floral Design. Sorry, we cannot preserve wedding bouquets made or designed in bridal bouquet foam holders.

How soon should I reserve my spot for floral preservation?
There are thousands of weddings taking place in Connecticut every year. Amberworks is only able to accept a small select number of clients each week for flower drying. In order to reserve your bouquet preservation, you should book your floral preservation well in advance.
The sooner, the better, the retainer cost is $400.

How long does it take to freeze dry flowers for floral preservation?
Your flowers are considered a work of art and handled accordingly. The actual flower drying process takes 14-17 days. The entire flower drying and design process takes approximately 25-40 weeks or longer depending on the time of year.

What is Freeze Drying?
Freeze drying is a flower preservation process which allows us to dry flowers while maintaining their natural shape and color. Good Housekeeping Magazine has rated freeze drying the best method available today for floral preservation.

Can all flowers be freeze dried for flower preservation?
We have perfected flower drying for almost all types of flowers; however, there are some types that we are unable to freeze dry including but not limited to Lilys, Bouvardia and Daisies.

Do flowers change color through floral preservation?
Some colors, such as dark red, will tend to deepen in the bouquet preservation process. Whites may take on more of an ivory appearance. You must remember the flowers are being preserved and Mother Nature believes in changing the colors through flower drying. Preserved freeze dried flowers will keep their shape but color may change slightly.

How long will freeze dried flowers last?
Since the freeze-drying of botanicals began in 1989, it is still too early to say that freeze-dried flowers will last forever. However, if you follow these easy instructions, your bouquet preservation keepsake can last for years. All keepsakes must be kept away from insects, direct sunlight, humidity and all extreme temperatures once preserved. It's best if you keep your floral preservation keepsake in a cool room throughout your house. This will ensure lasting color of your flowers and will delay color antiquing of your flower preservation.

Is a deposit required for floral preservation?
For wedding bouquet preservation a Non-Refundable $400 deposit is required. The deposit holds your date inline and will go towards the final cost of the overall flower preservation display. Deposits for bouquet preservation services are non-refundable. All clients must "reserve the date" and place a deposit with us for bouquet preservation prior to the wedding date. We only work with a select number of clients each week and cannot guarantee our floral preservation service without a deposit.

How much does flower preservation cost?
Just like having a priceless work of art framed, the cost for flower preservation is based on a few key elements. Total investment starts at $779.99 for a 16"x16"x5" Display. The Larger 16"x20"x5" Display $849.99. This does Not include CT Sales Tax.

Do I need to pick out my floral preservation display before the wedding?
Yes, you are required to make a decision on which display style you want when you place your floral preservation order. You should "reserve the date" with a paid retainer and contract.
If the wedding is less than three months away please contact us to see if we have any availability.

When will I be able to pick-up my final preserved floral product?
Once your product is complete you will receive an email letting you know it is ready for pick up. Pick up time must be within 10 days of notification otherwise storage fees will apply.

When do I need to select my bouquet preservation display?
You will need to select your display at time of reserving with retainer payment.

How soon do you need the flowers and how do I get them to you?
This is one of the most crucial points in the preservation process. The sooner we receive the flowers, the better the flower drying results will be. Please bring them directly to us no later than 48 hours after your event in a vase of water. Keep your bouquet hydrated in cold water and in a cold room, no need to squish them in a refrigerator.

Can I use an invitation card and/or mementoes in my display?
Yes, you can bring any mementos you would like to add to the final display with you when you come in to make your bouquet preservation display selection and deposit payment. The mementoes are needed during the display selection process to insure proper size of the display and proper placement within the display. Additional labor costs will be added, but mementoes are not required.

What are my payment options for floral preservation?
Simply make a non-refundable "reserve the date" deposit of $400 prior to your wedding. This will allow us to reserve a place in our flower preservation equipment. The final balance is paid 30 days from bouquet drop off date.
